Terms & Conditions

Continuing to book my services after receiving the “Terms & Conditions” document, will assume you agree to the terms enclosed going forwards.

Arriving at the salon:

All owners will be required to bring dogs wearing a lead. Please ensure your dog has been watered and walked before arriving at the salon to allow for them to go toilet as cleaning up accidents on the floor eats into their appointment time.

Late Policy:

Dropping Off:

If you are more than 15 minutes late, I reserve the right to cancel the appointment as I don’t want to pass this delay on to my other clients. In this instance you will be charged my no-show fee, which is 100% of full groom price.

Collecting Your Dog:

Please collect your dog at the agreed time. All my clients deserve the one-to-one service I offer.

If you are more than 15 minutes late collecting your dog you will be charged as follows in addition to your Full Groom Price;

0-15 mins = Free but please don’t.

15-30 mins = A late fee of £5 will apply.

After 30 mins there will be a further charge of £5 for every additional 15 minutes.

In all cases of lateness, please contact me so I know what is going on.

Cancellations:

  • Cancellations with Less Than 48 Hours’ Notice:
A cancellation fee of 50% of the full groom price will apply.

  • Cancellations with Less Than 24 Hours’ Notice:
A cancellation fee of 100% of the full groom price will apply.

  • Failure to Show Up Without Notice:
The same 100% cancellation fee will apply, and you will need to pay this fee before booking any future appointments.

Health and Welfare:

Occasionally during grooming a pre-existing condition may be discovered which you may not have been aware of, we will notify you of this so that you can seek veterinary advice. Although accidents are very rare, there is a risk when dealing with animals.  Grooming equipment is sharp, and although we use extreme caution and care in all situations, possible problems could occur including cuts, nicks, scratches, quicking of nails, etc. In most cases this can happen when an animal is wriggling or moving around. Your pet’s safety and comfort is our number one priority. In the event an accident does occur, you will be notified of the accident. In the event of an accident or serious medical issue arising during your pet's groom, this release gives us authority to seek emergency veterinary treatment.

Refusal of services for dangerous or aggressive animals:

It is the owner’s responsibility to inform us of ANY aggressive behaviours your pet has or may have. Muzzles/cones may be used if necessary, to protect both the pet and the groomer. The groomer reserves the right to refuse/stop services for such pet(s) at any time before or during the grooming process. In such cases, you will be contacted, and a full grooming fee may still apply depending on the time and work completed.

Aggression can include, but is not limited to: growling, snapping, biting, lunging, or extreme resistance to handling. By booking an appointment with us, you agree to inform us of any behavioural concerns and understand that the groomer’s judgment on a dog’s suitability for grooming is final.

An additional fee will apply if your dog is difficult to groom, or if your dog is aggressive.

Matted coats:

In the event that your pet's coat needs to be clipped down to release it from matting or coat neglect, we are not liable for any post-grooming effects of this procedure, which is not without risk, i.e. aural hematomas etc.

Any humane de-matting will be undertaken solely at the groomer’s discretion, in compliance with The Animal Welfare Act 2006.  De-matting during a routine groom is only possible if the matting is minimal. For severely matted coats where de-matting isn't possible, the only humane way to deal with this will be to completely shave off the coat. Large areas of matting, or fully matted dogs will require more time/care and an additional fee will be charged – price depends on severity of matting.

Photographs:

Your pet may be photographed before, during or after its groom. Photographs may be used on our website, social media or other printed materials.  Please let us know if you prefer for your pet’s photos not to be shared online.

Fleas:

If your dog has fleas, please do not bring them into the salon, please advise us of the situation and we can get your groom rescheduled for when the fleas are gone. If fleas are discovered mid-groom, I reserve the right to send the dog home immediately to avoid further risk of contaminating the salon. My salon must be a safe flea-free zone for all owners and dogs. This is something I take very seriously.

Therefore, if fleas are discovered you will be charged your full groom price (even if sent home early), plus £25 to cover the cost of flea bombing and deep cleaning the salon.

It is an owner’s responsibility to ensure their dog is up to date with their choice of flea prevention treatment.

Vaccinations:

Any dogs showing signs of illness will be sent home immediately and the salon sanitised. However, as not all conditions are symptomatic, it remains the owner’s responsibility to protect their dog in all public environments; from the grooming salon to the park, by vaccinating their dog.

  • All puppies must have received their full vaccinations before attending a grooming environment.

  • All dogs recently adopted from Rescue centres must be fully vaccinated before attending a grooming salon. Please do not book a newly adopted rescue dog in for a groom, until they’ve been in your care for a minimum of 3 weeks.

It is an owner’s responsibility to keep their dog’s vaccinations up to date. Any illnesses contracted due to failure to do this are entirely the owner’s responsibility.

In Season Females:

At our salon we prefer not to groom dogs that are in season, this is to try limit the disruption this may cause unneutered males that are booked in on the same day, as well as hygiene reasons. I understand it can be difficult to predict when your dog may come in to season, so please let us know prior and we can discuss options of moving appointments etc.
